Ideas for Meeting topics, guest speakers

We had a section on the previous board where any group leader could share ideas for meetings.  That got lost and I am thinking we might be able to start again.  There are some new people showing an interest in starting groups and this information is important.   

So here are some suggestions/ideas of guest speakers.  Please add more if you think of something else.

Neurosurgeon
Neurologist
Pharmacist
Acupuncturist
Chiropractor
Nutritionist ( diet for nerve health, modified for when it is hard to eat)
Dentist
Pain specialist

Topics
1.  Positive thinking - how to deal with pain
2,  How to talk to your doctor
3.  How to choose a surgeon
4.  Different surgical options ( a panel discussion includes patients who have had the procedure)
   - MVD
   - Rhizotomy (balloon, glycerol, radiofrequency)
   - Gamma Knife
5.  MRIs - maybe get a technician to come explain the equipment and talk about what happens - show some samples.
6.  Vitamines
7.  Complications of different procedures

I'm going to attend a seminar on "Law of Attraction" next week in Niagara Falls.  The woman putting it on has agreed to come to our next support group meeting as a guest speaker.  I'm not sure what the topic will be, but it will most likely be related to positive thinking, etc.  I'll let you know how it goes!

If you look at the agenda and list of conference topics from the TNA's conferences you can get some really good ideas for speakers/topics for meetings.
